ST JAMES' CE JUNIOR SCHOOL GOVERNORS
Governors play a key role in the life of the school and meet regularly throughout the year to discuss and monitor a range of matters including Staffing, Finance, Curriculum along with Premises/Health and Safety.
The remit of the governing board:
It is stated in the Governance Handbook that all boards, no matter what type of schools or how many schools they govern, have three core functions:
• Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
• Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
• Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
Our Clerk to the Governors Mrs Carol Newton can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org. Correspondence for the Governors can be sent to the clerk for distribution to the most appropriate Governor.
The current Governing Body is as follows:
Revd Jack Knill-Jones (Ex Officio) (Chair of Governors)
Revd John Hodgkinson

At our school we employ a Bursar who is an invitee to Governors meetings.
