Spring Term 2
Thank you Westmorland County Agricultural Society for the children’s follow up visit into school where they completed a number of tasks about milk and milk products 🥛 Some of these activities were to shake milk to make butter, sorting through food products to see which ones contained milk, saw the milking machine up close and personal and discussed more about how it worked, they had another informative morning 🐄
The children looked in depth at the Easter story and made some story wheels to help them retell the story

3B had a lovely morning at Barrow library today 📚 They were read some stories, were taught about how to use the library services and find the books that they might want to read. They also completed a book hunt around the library and decorated bookmarks! Thank you for having us Westmorland and Furness Libraries 😊
3B have spent a while making these lovely pillows as part of their DT work, lots of hard work by all, well done
The 20th of March is international day of happiness so in 3B we thought about what makes us happy and our happy places 😄 We also thought about how we can share our happiness and can make others around us happy and created a Happiness box to help us with this😃
We were very lucky to be entertained by a wonderful string quartet today 🎵 🎶 Four very talented musicians from the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra impressed everyone with their fabulous performances 🎻
3B had a fabulous morning at two diary farms today learning about where the milk we get in our shops comes from! The children looked at two different ways the farmers milk the cows and about where it is stored until collected by the supermarkets. They also got to feed and meet some lambs 🐄 🐑 🥛 Thank you very much for the experience to the Westmorland County Agricultural Society and to the farms we visited Church Farm and Dendron Farm !
Well done to 3B for the excellent collective worship on our Christian value of forgiveness last week. The whole class had written poems and prayers about forgiveness and read these out with confident, clear voices and did some brilliant acting to! ⛪️
In art the children created some 3D art work and made some colourful birds to be displayed in the classroom 🦜
Lower school took part in an act fast first aid session today in school where they learnt what to do in an emergency situation, the recovery position and how to apply bandages. They all worked really hard and we have some amazing first aiders now in school!

We have used globes and atlases to explore our world in geography today 🌍 They looked at where different continents and countries are and at the equator, labelling countries in the northern and southern hemisphere’s

Year 3 have started a new maths topic on fractions so we got practical to see what fractions we can create
